OK, I'll bite. Google was my friend and I discovered they are diverter valves. I am none the wiser.Where would you fit these and what would they do?

The diverter (or recirc) valve will put the boost pressure back into the system to aid the turbo spool up.

RS6Steve, why APR over the Forge valve?

When you close the throttle, the turbos are still putting out pressure and the air has nowhere to go but back to the turbos and work against them turning. It is obviously not so good for the vanes, and it also slows down the pressure build up for the next time you open the throttle.
The valves either let the air out (the whoosh sound on rally cars) or redirect it in the system so there is less loss of pressure whilst the turbos carry on turning.
I would assume the RS6 is already equipped with those, why change them?

Yep, the RS6 has DVs but they're a little average and made out of plastic IIRC. Like Posterboy, I was wondering what the APRs have over the Forge DVs?

Hi All, my OEM were really old and fluttering... I wanted to replace them with some solid ones that would last a lot longer and be more reliable. Not to say the OEM were unreliable.
Anyway, had them fitted today... And what a difference, it feels like a different car. The acceleration is much smoother and more progressive, feels like the boost is holding a lot better.
So the reason I chose the APR over the Forge was fairly simple. Zero maintenance, lifetime warranty and its a diaphragm not a piston.

Cheers Steve. More reading done, leaning towards adding these to the build list now!

Do these have any effect on power at all?

Dave, I would say increase in BHP only if the previous ones had failed or were worn. What I can say is my car feels faster and tighter. I'm pretty sure my old ones were shot.
The throttle responsiveness has increase and the speed does not seem to drop off as fast when I come of the throttle. I only did about 5 miles after they were replaced today, but will be back on it again tomorrow.
What I will be doing is going to SRR shortly to see if there is much difference in power.

Got a set a Forge on mine fitted by Grizz.
No comparison of the old plastic stock valves.

The car is running fantastic, I just get the occasional boost 'fart' must a have a slight leak under pressure somewhere! Will check out the hoses tomorrow

Haha, boost fart. I'll now have something else to blame my air biscuits on.

They should not make any more power. If the OEM are working well then there should not be any difference but the OEM diaphragms go weak or fail so upgrades like these get them back to how they should be and last longer. If the OEMs are shot (and you can test them but sucking on one side) then new will make it more responsive - less lag etc.
I got Hyperboost valves which are piston type (like forge) and I am pleased with them, although occasionally I get more than a boost fart - if I floor it and then a car pulls out and i have to back off quickly it seems to not release quick enough and it feels a bit like back pressure lurch ....but it could be something else....
