What Tyres You Running
What Tyres You Running
Looking for a new set off tyres who has what and how do you rate them.
RE: What Tyres You Running
Got a set of Continental's on at the moment. The way I drive the car I get a lot of understeer from them so will be looking to change them for a set of Goodyears once they run out of tread.

Im on Vreds and for the money they are as good (if not slightly better in my opinion) as the PZeros. The only downside is that the ride is a little harder with them being 30mm instead of 35mm. Worth a punt at circa £530 for the set.

Likewise I'm on the Bridgestone and I'm also really happy with them. I got 4 for the price of 3rob8457 wrote:i put Brigestones on mine well happy with them they are expensive at 190 odd per corner though but they have good rim protector on them.

RE: Re: RE: What Tyres You Running
Mind you i did have a moment with them aqua plaining at 120 on motorway i foooking shat my self went accross 2 lanes managed to control it, now i slow down in the wet, i think its just because of the width of the tyre and also the speed, the motor way was like a river, in the dry they stick like glue to the roads.

I have posted this before but :
1. goodyear Eagle F1 Assy's- Brilliant tyre, wet or dry, get em hot and they have unbelievable amounts of grip. At £160-190 each good value too.
2. Mitchelin Ps2's- Again a brilliant tyre but too expensive for no more performance than thre GY.
3. Pirelli pzero's- average tyre in the dry but shocking in the wet.
4. conti's- crap- lasted a week on my car.
5. Vreds- very disappointed with these tyres- unuseable on my car.

We all seem to get mixed results / preferences on this issue.
Personally I prefer Michelin Pilot Sports on my 911. The were light years ahead of Pirellis / Contis on that car. So good infact they make the car.
Pirellis were ace on B5 S4, and Contis equal price but absolute crappola on it.
Dunlop SP 9000 Sports were awesome on my B6 S4 Avant. They were dirt cheap too.
It seems to me the personal preferences of each owner makes for a different mix of driver / vehicle / tyre is quite often unique.
TBH I've not tried the Goodyears but I get on so well with the Contis on the C5 I'm a bit loathes to change incase it's an expensive lesson!

I had dunlop sp 9000's on my b6 s4 before goodyears and they were the worst tyre i've ever had. The car would slide around islands. Had no confidence in the car what so ever

Continental Sport Contact 3 - I think these are excellent tyres, however I am running them on 20 inch ABT rims. They are noticably quieter than the Pirellis although do not have the outright grip of Michelins, break progressively when pushed and also seem to have better wear rates than the Pirellis. Dont care what anyone else says ... I'm sticking with these tyres as they are excellent all-round tyres, maybe not best in class but great value for money too. Kwik Fit were doing really good deals on a set of 4.
