Goodyear Assy F1s & MTM Bimotos - will they fit?

Post by GardinerG » Wed Mar 17, 2010 1:36 pm

Does anyone know if the Goodyear Eagle F1 Assys in 275/30/19 will fit on the RS6 with MTM Bimoto wheels? I have seen issues with some tyres rubbing on the suspension.

I know that the above size in Michellin PS2s do...

Yes, I have them too. No problems at all with regards to rubbing.

My only issues are with the Bimoto's - in that I've got the polished ones, and they're all corroded in little more than a year of having them.
In fact one is so bad now, that the lacquer is actually peeling/flaking off - not impressed at all.
And after a recent visit to Unit20, I've now found out that one of them is buckled due to the government's lack of investment in the roads.
Wouldn't choose Bimoto's again given the choice.

Hi Andy, I know exactly what you mean. All 4 of my MTMs need refurbing, and none of my local places can do it properly. The problem is the lacquer doesn't stick to the diamond cut surface very well, so if you want longevity go for a single colour respray.

I'm trying to find someone local who has a trade account with Lepsons (so they get picked up). They have bases in Swindon and Kent. They also do unbending/unbuckling.

Grizz would you say they are better (stickier) than the PS2s?

Have you complained to MTM? Not a very good advert for them.

Grant, try the polished wheel company, ok they are in Wadebridge in cornwall, but they will collect or you can get them sent, they are awesome, did mine and did a great job, truely professional- none of this filler <beep>, we3lded and lathed to his own hand made jigs and templates of the wheels.

I will see if I can find the link or just search here or SRS for "just had my wheels done".

Very uncool. I was seriously considering some bimotos. I can understand that quality issues can happen, but that they don't do anything about them is unacceptable to me. Oh well, plan B - Sportec Mono 10's :)

To be honest with the diamond cut finishes we are supposed to wax them to protect the lacquer and we shouldn't use stiff brushes or harsh chems like Wonder Wheels to clean them.

I was also considering the BiMotos until I saw the weights. The Sportec mono 10's were the full flavour at half the fat. I recommend taking a look at the HRE P43s. I'm going over to Projex UK on the weekend to have a look at some P40s and P43s in charcoal.
Been looking at wheels now for about 6 weeks solid
