Is there a way of replaceing the sensor with out taking the bumper off? I've had a quick look and can get my hand on the sensor but not sure how it disconnects from either the bumper or the cable. There seems to be enough room to get movement but not that much.

If it makes any difference we're talking about an Avant.

I posted recently about how the sensors are clipped to the bumper.

YOu're supposed to remove the "rear bumper cover" whatever that is. If you can get reach your hand to the sensors, you might be able to remove it without removing the bumper; Maybe someone who has done it can give better advice.

I tried cleaning mine from the outside with some sucess but it aint perfect

Not had a chance so far, still waiting on the replacement sensor arriving. I may have a go at cleaning it in the mean time and see if that helps.

I tried cleaning it in situ with a dremmel, it kind of worked but make sure you mask the bumper well. I touched the edge and so had to paint that too which shows as it's new paint and no gap like there is on the sensor to hide the work.

I can see it bugging me and a front back bumper paint having to be done

Had a go over the weekend replacing the sensor, there doesn't seem to be enough room with the bumper on the car. Can any one tell me how I go about removing the rear bumper from an Avant?

Going away for the half term break so will have a go in a couple of weeks and report back. Looks like there is a lot og bits to remove along the way.
