How, do, I'm new to this site so Hello . Got my Rs and loving it, but as I expected the DRC has played up. No surprises hey. I've read all the post on replaceing it with coilovers and I'm thinking about going for the bilsteins, or just repalcing all 4 drc units.. Just tweo questions which I have thought about. Firstly how do youfair with the insurnce companies? do they charge you a huge extra for modifiying the car, or do they look upon it as replacing broken components with non original replaceents i.e just not using audi parts.IYSWIM. Also what about resale? now the cars are getting a few years older, do independant specialists shy away from non DRC cars, or are they more than happy to take them? Any input gratefully recieved.

Hi Gambo, and welcome!

Most here will argue for the Bilstein route - it will cost you less to do than going down the DRC route (unless you have an Audi warranty to claim on), and though the latest DRC units seem to be a lot more reliable than the old, no-one can be sure they will outlast the coilovers.

You MUST tell yur insurers, but their reaction, and the increase in premium varies. Mine are very happy with mods, others see it as an increased risk factor - only way to find out is to ring and ask - or contact a few of the site sponsors who will gladly quote you I'm sure.

These cars are increasingly appealing to enthusiast/specialist buyers - many will pay a premium for coilovers, seeing it as one job out of the way. Dealers, who are typically less informed, may see it as te opposite - so it all depends pn how you think you might dispose of the car, and when!

Dave , thanks for the reply. I think what I must do is cost up all option including possible iunsurance hike. I'll have to work out the Picture route, biggest problem, is she's in need of a good wash and polish, but weather over hear in Wales is really working against me. LOL

If your car is under 6 years and below 100k with full Audi history Audi will under warranty sort the DRC for you, if you have none of the ementioned then its gonna cost you, where in Wales are you? as i'm from Bristol there is no RS6 owners hear in the west country of what i know of at least not on this forum.

We have a place down in Pembrokeshire so we are up and down the M4 all the time! And there is a guy in mid Pembs runs a wheels and bodywork place (Phil??) who's on here from time to time
