Location of DVs, N75, N249, etc..

I just tried to change my N75, but as usual, once I'd got everything apart it turns out I didn't have the right part.
The part numbers are very easy to confuse, and what I thought was the N75 was the N249 and the what I thought was the N249 was the EGR recirc valve (I think!). Anyway, I'll have to order the N75 again (properly this time). I took a couple of photos to help others avoid my mistake:

By the way, if anyone spots a mistake then let me know. The vacuum system is hardly the most intuitive bit of kit on the car. "Oil refinery" comes to mind...

........and what should be an intake is actually a blue sock, this is getting really confusing

It seems that the RS6 doesn't have EGR?! So what does the valve I changed do? Can anyone put a name to it?

Secondary air injection

How come you are changing that? Have you got faults or are you experiencing some abnormal symptoms?

When I suspected I had power issues, I decided to change the DVs, N249 and N75 to eliminate them as causes. And thanks to a screw up with part numbers I ended up with that part instead of the N75.

That could make sense. It looks like it might be the N112. Although it doesn't seel tio go anywhere near the secondary air pump. I'll modify the image.

Did you notice a difference afterwards?
Hang on, scrub that - wasn't that the thread 'Oh no, car feels slow'? Didn't you say it was the same - can't remember..

Yup, that's the thread. The car feels more responsible, but I'm 99.99% sure that this is due to colder weather and my head.

Ah yes, but do you feel a more responsible driver now you've changed them?

More "responsible" or more "responsive" ?!
