Audi Stoke.........What can I say!!

WOW, in th words of Victor Meldrew, " I dont believe it"!

I called my Audi garage for a quote on a cambelt/tensioner, water pump and while at it a ribbed belt for the power steering. Needless to say I knew what was coming. Then requested a labour charge to fit my OEM supplied + disks and pads to the fronts. Being that this garage has serviced the car since new and sold the Incape warranty for it, I had to give them a go. Very friendly and nice people to deal with but I as usual Audi mind blowing labour rates and charges.....Disks and pads just to fit were £180..

Anyway, STOKE AUDI....... will do brakes for £65! Along with all the above being done at apporx £600 cheaper!

Give Simon a ring (in the workshop) seriously nice bloke, seriously competative quotes.....I'm STOKED! And booked in! Ok it may cost me £170 in fuel  But that is seriously good; I think anyway.

Ask them to fax you a list of parts - Stoke were listing Cambelt changes on ebay a while back, MUCH cheaper than anyone else, they did not include all the parts.

I'm just about to get mine done, has anyone got a definitive list of what should be done / part numbers (waterpump and thermostat etc)?!..

Can this be made a sticky?..

That is part of the same deal from ebay.co.uk for the cambelt, its still advirtised at £650...No water pump in that BUT they will not charge labour to fit water pump so add £65 for the pump itself!! :) :)

The cambelt/tensioner comes as a "pack", I can get part numbers for you when shes done. The add ons are the water pump, rollers etc if they need doing, but as the front off, just do them to be sure. Basically for all the work I needed for the cambelt, to include a ribbed belt was £750!! Thats FAXING amazing!
Definately something in the water, the labour rate differs by 50% to East Kent.... :drink:

Out of interest has anyone had and experience with Stoke Audi?.. The norm advice seems to be stay away from the dealer network and use specialists like MRC or Unit 20 etc. Mine is due a cambelt change and Stoke are the closest to me?!.. decisions decisions..

I see where your coming from but seriously, IS THAT THE NORM? Audi don't know what they are talking about???? I mean as far as "specialists" go.......... I drive an Audi, if an Audi garage are going to do the work, I expect it to be done by somone who knows the cars; surely thats why a FASH means more than a FSH with a little Audi thrown in or indeed an MRC / Unit 20 etc history should surely equal Audi? ( with all due respect to the aformentioned of course ). All work/parts guaranteed for 2 years as standard (as you would expect)!!!!

I only use Audi as my warranty stipulates it, other than that I wouldnt trust them to fix a scalextric car TBH

Not true. All depends on which dealership you go to.
There are plenty of good dealerships out there who do a splendid job and provide a great service.

...you just need to find them ;)

Stoke

I guess you can add Brighton to that list now!!! AMAZINGLY today at the MOT, it failed on a number plate (no space as per the law) and the headlights were dipped too far. So after downloading the form off the net for a FREEEEEEE MOT!!!!! My car cost £17 to get the lights sorted, and the blokes at Audi Brighton as I brought the "correct" plates in to show, they gave her a full bill of health and MOT. To which I was so happy I explained my up and coming trip to Stoke for the cambelt etc at 4am this Monday morning, to which the reply was....." I think we can match their quote"!!!! FFS, this was AWSOME news. I went over the quote details I had (in writing) from Stoke, Brighton was £50 more but petrol would have been £200 for me to get there and back!!! WHOOP WHOOP. Im over the fackering moon today all is good!!
