And another thing...

Post by chiphopster » Thu Nov 19, 2009 9:32 pm

I went to view an rs6 estate today and there was a button near the handbrake with "menu" and a twisty button on... Should this control the sat nav etc as it did not seem to work...am I missing the point? Also should an rs6 have a spare wheel???
These are probably really retarded questions with simple answers...
With thanks,
chris

The menu button is for the DIS (Driver Information System) only. It is the red text straight in front of the driver, it shows MPG, drive time, set clock, tyre pressure system, speed warning etc. Note that you should press the MENU text itself for the menu to appear, then use the twisty knob to scroll, and press the twisty knob to select.

RS6 does not have a spare wheel, as the battery is in the wheel well in the boot! You'll find a can of squirty stuff in there for small punctures. :)

i've got to admit - the menu button & twisty knob had me confused.
was trying to press the knob for the menu to appear, but actually you have to press the button then twist or press the knob once in the system.
it was a techie at the dealership that told me how to use it when checking it under a warranty claim...oops...

When I first got mine, I had problems with my knob. Nothing would happen whether I pulled pushed or twisted it. Ooh er.

Turned out that the canbus / TMC module was dead. This meant no comms between the the infotainment stuff. Make sure it's working because unless you're handy with ebay and a screwdriver, you're looking at an expensive repair.
