INCHCAPE Warranty? Anyone have it/heard of it?

So I called East Kent Audi to get some paperwork for some missing (but definitely performed) works done on the 6, and I thought I'd ask him about the Audi warrenty and whether it'd be available on mine. He said 'yeeees, but it'd be very expensive'. That I knew.

He did however suggest an alternative which they apparently use, INCHCAPE. Theres not an awful lot in the handbook he sent, however, for 850 quid for three years worth of cover.

Under engine, the list is pretty comprehensive. Under Auto box, it says 'Internal shafts, gears, clutches, brake bands, valve block, governer, oil pump, bearings and bushes, servo, drive plate and transfer gears.

Seperate heading for Torque converter for failure or any internal mechnical parts.

Turbos are covered.

Under front and rear suspension: Hydroelastic displacers and hydropneumatic spheres, coil springs, upper and lower wishbones and ball and swivel joints. DRC covered or not??

Most of the major electrical parts are covered.

ECU is covered.

Casings to all mechnical parts.



What do we all think??? Seem value for money to me...

Not sure if applies now but Inchcape used to cover all the network Q cars

YUP!!!
Inchcape use car care plan, and as Grizzly has said, they have been excellent, DRC replaced 4 times, intercoolers replaced, gearbox replaced, plus other bits too.....

My C6 has the manufacturers warranty, and 5 year Inchcape extended warranty.
Lets hope Inchcape stay in business till 2014.

W O W. I never thought id be able to get warranty for under a grand that was worth the paper it was on, let alone for THREE YEARS.

I asked everyone a couple of weeks ago which warranty to go for and evryone said only Audi was worth it!!!!

Any advice before I take out the policy??? Was just about to replace the DRC with Bilsteins... (Also I think its subject to a 20 point check or something).

I made sure the warranty was part of the deal when I bought a new V10 RS6.

I'd say 'mad' & 'now broke'.

My family & the doctors are a little worried about me, as they think my heart is pumping petrol .. "the family think I'm an oil well".

is there a limit to any one claim or max payout on the labour rate?

NOt as far as I am aware.

Unit20 has doen all my warranty work. If i have had a problem, Grizz calls them, tells them what it is, if it is under £2000, they just give him the authorisation and if over they send a tech out to inspect.

Dunno, but going on what mrmule is saying, and supposing thast the warranty underwriters are the same- it would appaer so- he was offered one at East Kent Audi.................

£850 for 3 years is amazing. Why then do most people say go for audi warranty, in my case £1700 for 1 year.

What are audi covering that INCHAPE arnt ??
