Brake pads, which ones?????????

Ok so my rear pads are starting to get quiet low so I want to buy some pads ready so that I can fit them. Question is which ones???
I read on the forums that the standard OEM ones are a Pagid RS pad, which number? 42'1, 15 ??
Is this true, I would not expect Audi to use padgid pads on a road car. I have tried a few different types of pads on my Lotus I used to have and found one of the best value for money was the New Yellow stuff pads from EBC. They have recently re-developed the compound, now called type R and for road and track use they were very impressive. All the fellow lotus track drivers say that the Pagid RS 42 & 14's are streets ahead of the yellowstuff, but to be fair I would expect so for 1 and a half times more money!
I know brakes are important but if the OEM pads are not pagids, then I may be looking to fit a set of the yellowstuff pads as an upgrade. If the OEM's are pagids, then yellowstuff would be a downgrade. Can anyone clarify this? Money is always tight so I dont want to fork out £400 for a set of front pads if I can help it.
As far as I know the pads on it at the mo are the OEM ones and although they are a bit crap when cold after a good few stabs they seems very powerful so cant really fault them.
