Hi Gents,

Finally I could get rid of the bloody DRC and install the best combo -- H&R coilovers and Hotchkis Sway-bars.

Did a search but no info on the recommended settings on the H&R and Hotchkis Sway-bars within the RS6 C5 forum.

Can someone recommend a setting for typical UK B-road? We don't have good person like Grizz over here?

Cheers,

The front hotchkis bars are not adjustable, i'd set the rear to hard on the RS6.

I 2nd that, definitely set the rear to the harder setting.

Thanks for your info. How about the front setting?

Also, is there any recommended ride height settings (front and rear) if the rear setting is the hardest? Apologize if I am asking silly question.

Hotchkis fronts are one setting only, rears have two settings, from memory the settings are about 50% and 65% stiffer than OEM, so use the stiffest setting.

Thanks GAVC450. How about the H&R? Is it just a matter of personal preference for the ride height and/or the condition of the road or something more complicated??

just had mine done by Grizz . He recommended the softer setting for the arb ,height is a personal preference , doesnt effect ride , unless it is so low you lose your sump on speed bumps , he lowered mine so you cant see the top of the tyre in the rear arch , very nice

Griz set mine the same....softer setting and kept the optional 10mm lowered setting that I opted for when I bought my Plus.

Sure has improved the car.

Thanks Phil for your info. I will try to follow your setting of "can't see the top of the tyre in the rear arch"

Cheers

OK, well I'm surprised that you buy stronger ARB's and use the lesser rear setting which admittedly is 50% stiffer than OEM, however the stiffer setting gives a little more at 65%.

So if you use the slightly softer setting on the rear ARB, it allows more flexing at the rear and the front wheels do not have to do as much work to get round the corner....., but if you use the stiffer setting, it can cause the front to work harder and understeer on cornering..... unless you use the ackerman setup principle of slightly toeing out the front.... then you have a go kart effect on cornering, goes round on rails!!

Anyway all personal preferences, just have fun with the setup.

I think a 10mm drop will suffice. Any lower and you may find problems with some of the Wilson carpark ramps!!!

Hmmmmmmm!! Seems very sensible setting. Is it easy to change from stiffer to softer setting on the rear ARB so that I could try both or I would have to pay a lot on the labour fee?
