How many seats?

Good morning Gents,
As you'll see I'm as new as a new thing to here. I am looking into buying an RS6 Avant in the New Year as my M3 Coupe will not accommodate 2 child seats in the back of it! Well that's not strictly true. It will, but then it cant accommodate me in the front of it!!
So as a result I am researching what I can, where I can. Unfortunately for you it does mean that from time to time I might have some stupid/not so stupid questions to ask.
To get the ball rolling could anyone tell me was the RS6 available with more than 5 seats?
Also what are peoples opinions as far as the RS6 vs RS6 Plus, is the Plus worth seeking out? If so why? and if not why not.
I wont take up too much space so early on but any help would be gratefully received.
Many thanks in advance.

Welcome! A good time to buy a great car!
The RS6 will easily fit 2 chiold seats in.
It was not made with any more.
I made the move from an A4 to the RS6 for the room when our family grew, and we made more frquent trips to cornwall. There was more than enough room, and even loaded to the gills it would waste most 911's!.
As for the Plus, I have had no experience with them!

get the plus if you want exclusivity and the extra horses from the standard model. Whichever one you go for will definately accomodate 4 tall people with ease. The rear seats in the M3 were only mean't to accomodate those upto the age of 8 (for those younger the bloomin carseats never fitted well!!!)!!!!!!

There is an aftermarket rear bench available that goes in the boot (avant only of course!). This is the same as the rear facing Volvo seats of past.

Hi and welcome.
I've I've owned both Plus and Non, and it's impossible to call really. Yes, I loved the Plus but that was almost brand new at the time, so it fitted into a slightly different 'sector' then at £50k. Then of course I had a remap and others in standard 6's with the same remap were now running the same power, so that part of ownership was gone.
A few years on, I now own a std car just because I missed them so much - so the shoe is on the other foot. I looked at a sprint blue Plus also, but felt £10k was too much extra, the way prices are going, knowing what I know now! One moment I think I should have got the Plus (mainly because of the colour, I now think the sprint blue Plus is the best out there) other days I think I've done exactly the right thing. I can spend 3k on a the biggest realistic upgrade available and still have spent no where near what I could have done. I'm in a 54 plate so have the RNS-E anyway with under 30k miles.
Probably no help, but I recommend you find the best example of car out there first. If it's a Plus, great - if it's standard great too.
Have fun either way

My wife squeezed three child seats across the back once but I would not recommend it...
TOP GEAR ran a story on a north of england company which made a triple child seat/bench, which was BS approved, to go across the back apparently they even did a quadruple. It is all down to the width of the child seat and the cost was circa £900-£1000. Cannot remember the name of the company as several friends of mine with Cayennes need the extra seats.

Thanks for the advice so far!
So there was an aftermarket additional rear made!! The reason I asked was I had a feeling that when I started looking I saw an ad that said 7 seats! Obviously I kind of assumed it was an Audi extra, but I might see what I can find out. At the moment I am looking for one to transport the two grown ups and two children under 3, so the extra seating isn't needed, but it does give that option of even more flexibility if needed.
I fully agree with the "find a good RS6, rather than getting caught up on the whole Plus not Plus question!!
The other obvious hiccup with RS6 ownership appears to stem from the DRC funny business! Is there something in particular that needs to be checked with them? and is it just a lottery as to when they fail? It sounds so far that it's a case of when they fail, not if they fail?

Just found this, I know it's not going to be of interest to many people, but they do additional reaer seat kits for Estate Cars and 4x4's, I've asked them for some info so ill be interested to see whats involved!

DRC is definately a lottery. I bought an rs6 plus in june with full DRC replaced just 1 month before, under audi warranty, it failed after only 6 weeks/700 miles. Seems new or old DRC is just crap!
Haven't looked back since replacing DRC with coilovers.
Plus or standard? Plus slightly more exclusive, but don't think you could tell difference in performance in the real world. Look for best condition/history you can and you will have a great car.
