DRC is the best !
Don't worry guys, I haven't been at the wacky backy. Was being sarcastic !
Serviced the animal yesterday, and guess what?, yep the shocks are in need of replacement. This is willbe the second time in 16 months! This must be some kind of record?
Thing is, the car was driving fine with no odd noises or really bad ride either
Problem is that audi warranty won't replace them as they say the original replacements last year are covered by a parts warranty so this is an audi issue and not a warranty issue. The dealer called me and asked if I could call the original audi garage that did the replacement and get a list of all parts replaced.....
So now I, the customer am getting dragged into conversations between 2 dealers and mondial warranties.call me a snob, but shouldn't they be doing this between themselves?
This is for a car with audi warranty! At least I know it will be sorted out at some point. Can only imagine how much of a 'mind fcuk' this would be with a non franchised warranty.
Customer service at its best.
On the plus side, I have a 3.0 d A5 coupe. Very nice car actually, averaging about 45mpg.

luxury!! my dealer tells me that there is one car that have has a drc replacement twice within a month!
Yes they are, as long as you ensure that you have kept the reciept from the dealer that shows what parts were changed. Don't rely on them keeping an accurate record on their systems.Luckily I had the invoice. Think the warranty book also says that THE OWNER has to provide invoices as proof of the work. Hope that makes it clearer.
Hi Steve,
That sounds a bit odd?! I had all mine changed under warranty (well I had to pay for one shocker) but I got no reciepts as they had to send them to the warranty company, but they told me that it is all on the computer and it has been back twice since for rework?!
Oh well - Good luck in sorting it - like you say the warranty company should be talking with Audi about this. Maybe worth a call to Audi customer services??

If any of you folks with a leaking shock or duff valve want to have the stuff I took off my car earlier this year, I in theory have a full system barring a single leaking shock, that you might be able to use.
This might be of use to those of you out of warranty and faced with one or more unit replacements. PM me if you are interested. All the removed items (shocks and springs) are in a box, the valves and other gubbins still on the car but sealed up.
