HA!
I laugh in the face of your puny Road Tax rates!

Over here (Ireland), the mighty RS6 costs (Euro)€1491/annum; that's approximately (Sterling)£1200. :(

Nope. £440.00 is what you'll be paying next year, and £455 the year after that. I'm seriously starting to doubt it's worth it all. This kind of cost, coupled with warranties, other repairs, petrol, insurance, tracker subs, costs of things like tyres. I could do a lot of other things with that money.

No the changes are retrospective and apply to all cars registered on or after 1 March 2001, which includes all RS6s.

That can't be right??

Just checked the figure for my B7 RS4 & according to that it's £400 this year, as mine was reg'd May 2007, however i received a timely reminder today from the DVLA that my tax runs out on the 30th April, however my renewal is £300.

In the small print of the renewal you will see it says "subject to budgetary changes" or similar, mine had gone up.

Could be worse lads, as Rovi pointed out € 1500.00 per year road tax for RS6 here in Ireland ( for <beep> roads i might add ), and i paid € 10,700.00 last week for the privilege of putting an Irish registration plate on the car ( vehicle registration tax  ). And to top it off i think my gearbox is shagged  !!!
