I was just reading an original article about the beast when it first came out . They said Audi reckon it is good for 194mph if de-restricted !!!!!!!!!!
Anyone used their Vagcom to try this , or is it more complicated than that ????

Phil, you need at least an ECU reflash to have the car delimited, if you need this doing (even without a remap), contact us on info@mrctuning.com.

I've driven down the M621 many times & only a total cock would attempt such speeds on that road. If fact on any road in the UK.

Caught at that speed & you'd be playing someones bitch for a good few years. Soap on a rope anyone.

i`m sure he meant he was doing 70mph on the M621 then went onto a private road to do the faster speed :greyrs4:

judging from what I have seen at vmax (admitedly within 2 miles but anyway..), a standard RS6 derestricted is good for about 165 mph (real speed, speedo showing 172), given enough room i reckon good for 170ish. I mildly tuned RS6 (ie circa 500bhp) 170mph real speed within the space (speedo showing approx 180) and given enough room I reckon 175-180mph real speed.

I think the majority of people would be utterly astonished to see how much more power & space you need to get to achieve the leap from 180 to 200mph and I think an RS6 would need 600 odd bhp & about 3 miles plus of road to do it

IIRC Craig, i was getting 175-178ish through the traps with 520ishBHP & after the big jobs could only manage 182MPH with 556BHP.

In Germany i had the speedo up to 195MPH so i guess mid 180's & she was still pulling, but as we both know it's the damned aerodynamics at these speeds that takes it's toll on the ubber saloons. I'd say a de-restricted & tuned to 550BHP RS6 could get very close to the magical 200MPH, but it would need over 4 miles to hit such a speed.

yep, i concur with that pretty much Paul

I've done a GPS 187mph on a tuned R1 in Germany before, but what on earth does that sort of speed feel like in a near 2-tonne estate car? Does it still feel stable? Have not had the chance to get my car anywhere big enough to try higher speeds yet....

RS6 160mph for me and solid as a rock, as you'd expect with a heavy load weighing down on the tarmac. No sweat with the lightest touch on the steering wheel and nervous eyes looking for flashing lights!

TVR Chimeara 140mph, cor blimey, unnerving with flapping bonnet & lightweight motor.

TVR wins at sub 100mph speeds though, as it is very quick through point to point twisties and with superb chuckability. Go kart without the load transfer of the RS.
