Hi to all
Well, I've finally done it and gone and put the deposit down on a used RS6 avant. So I've joined the community.
It's a '54 from a main dealer and it does come with a year's Audi approved warranty. It'll be interesting to see how much this is needed.
Been thinking about owning one for some time and have found this forum extremely useful.
Pick the car up next week so I'll report then.
Best wishes to everyone here,
Graham

Hi Graham - Well done on your purchase.
Please keep us informed on how you get on with the car : I hope to own one too one day and some first hand experience would be great to hear.

Welcome graham...
Interesting your reference to need for warranty.... for a performance car the RS6 is very very reliable; I've travelled a significant distance over the years I've had mine with relatively few issues. People are always quick to criticise rather than praise, but thats simply human nature, particularly in the UK.

Hi. Thank you all for the welcome.
My previous experience of running Audis – A80, A3, TT (wife) and 3 ur quattros (me) – has been extremely good in terms of reliability.
I'm just being slightly cautious because of the highlighted DRC issues that do seem to re-occur on some cars.
I'm really looking forward to getting the car (3 days now) and am sure I will love driving it. I'll be happy to report the initial experience.
Thanks again,
Graham

I'm also hoping to get mine on Friday, Can't wait!
Bit bigger than the S3 I'm used too.
I must say I have found this forum very useful and friendly over the last few days.

Every time I get out of my car after driving it I think "what a machine" with a big grin. As Steve says, they are very well built for a car with 500+ ponies. I've had her for 6 months now and have done about 5,000 miles. I have the warranty for the major items (gearbox, engine n turbos) if they go. They are fantastic cars so have fun.
Cheers
