General RS6 questions

Post by iwant1 » Sat May 26, 2007 11:50 am

Hi - I wondered if anyone knew how many RS6 avanys were made in nogaro blue ? Also, was the Black Optic Kit only available at the time a car was spec'd from new, or can it be bought as a retro fit from an Audi dealer ?
Many thanks

Not many, as have only ever seen one for sale. Believe black optic kit was factory specified, you can however get the parts from Audi and change them yourself, but the caveat is $$$ .... better to find a car with black optics than trying to change it. Ther other course is trying to get the chrome bits sprayed matt black, but these will then be prone to stonechips.

Thanks for your reply - I've also only seen one for sale too ! Does the forum have any access to records relating to Audi sales of rs6's and quantities sold in the various colours ?
Agree that retro-fitting the black optic kit would probably be expensive and getting the chrome painted satin black is always going to be a compromise.

yeah, I've seen a couple of +'s in Nogaro too, just doesn't seem as popular in the 'normal' RS6 .....

More than likely it's "Sprint Blue" that was a special colour only for the RS6 Plus, along with Silver metallic & Ebony black.

http://www.rsportscars.com/eng/cars/audi_rs6_plus.asp

I have an original Audi hardback book, listing all the Colour, trim spec. etc. of the standard RS6's.

Colours as follows:
Avus Silver, Daytona Grey, Ebony black (my favourite), Goodwood green,
Misano Red, Mugello Blue.

They state that you can have any colour from the Audi range that is not part of the RS6 colour range for an extra £1725.00

There is a Noggy one I'm told, it was a special order for a guy in Cheshire. Met him before the car was delivered but have not actually seen it.
