Oh no. What happened?

I think the system worked when I got the car.
I had some tyres fitted a few years ago and they had replaced the missing sensor with a standard valve.
I might have disabled the system before though, because it was ages before i realised what they'd done.
Seems strange that I missed it, because I usually wash the car myself.
The broken one might have been why I disabled the system.
Even I can't make sense of what I've just written after reading it back. Lol.
You can see it's been broke a long time.
Anyhoo, just had my wheels done dark carbon and told them told put standard valves back in.

Personally I would want TPMS working

Yeah, I'd be uncomfortable without TPMS in any car really. I had a flat on the Volvo on the motorway and only found out because of another driver frantically gesticulating at me. Was too late to save the tyre but if I'd had TPMS I could have repaired the tyre as soon as it started losing pressure. I've got an aftermarket kit for it now which is surprising good.

I am sounding like a bit of a hypocrite.
When I bought the car it didn’t have TPMS sensors fitted. And the option was switched off.
I had lived without TPMS for years and years.
First I knew about them was when I joined this site.
Now after installing them I wouldn’t be without them.

I know what you both mean.
I guess we all probably grew up without them though, so most of the time, the old checking physically works for me.
It is nice to have a monitor though.
I've looked at some aftermarket ones.
Those £80 ones. Where they from?

And they are pre programmed.
Mine were installed in May 2024
I haven’t had any problems with them.
Still working fine.

I've got the same ones. Haven't had a chance to take the tyres off yet. I'll try to install them over Easter.

Nice one. Unfortunately they'd already got the tyres back on after the refurb.
So looks like I'll be monitoring myself.
At least the beads will be something I don't have to worry about.

This is what I put on the Volvo. Works well. Incredible value. Don't need to remove the tyres.

If they are all working I will take them, just had tyre replace and they put a standard valve in which is also faulty.

I can't guarantee that they work.
Not sure if I disabled the system due to a fault or when they put a standard valve in.
Does anyone know how I could test them?
