Hi all first post..

I am refurbishing an RS6, and hit a problem with the MAF readings Bank 1 shows 7.53 g/s whereas Bank 2 shows 10.75 g/s also have a code for SAI insufficient flow on both Banks, I am assuming the pump has failed but I am struggling to sort the MAF problem, is this a common problem?

Thanks

Bit low but not excessively so.

If you’re getting SAI errors you might have a vac leak.

Check that the SAI pump is working first. Then check the vac pipes for leaks or perished rubber.

MAFs might not be seated properly. That’s extremely common.

SAI combiner valves can fail, too, allowing unmetered air in.

Log the MAFs at WOT. See what readings you get.

Also what are your trim values (group 032)?

The plug was also loose, all part of the journey, we have ticked off most of the major faults intercoolers leaking,DRC removed, belts are sorted, turbos are good, Vac pipes are all clear of leaks as far as i can see, smoke testing next week and the parts are ordered. lets see what the result is, The SAI pump is dead so that explains the fault code.

Cool. Doesn't sound like you're a million miles away from getting it running sweetly.

Hard to tell from a photo. Only way to know for sure is the paint code on the options Sticker (or a dealer could get it from the VIN lookup, obvs).

The Code is blank on the Sticker I am going to contact the dealer, either way it is a stunning colour, I just like the prestige/heritage of Nogaro blue.

Yeah I must agree paintwork looks amazing.

I must get mine in for paint correction and ceramic.

Paint correction is worth learning yourself very satisfying, get some old car doors from the scrapper, and get a cheap DA from Amazon, look up Ammo on YouTube some great tutorials, Menzerna products are good. Ceramic, leave that to the pros!

I was quoted not so long ago by a top award winning detailer. His price was so reasonable that it’s not worth my time and effort to buy all the gear and get proficient at it.

However I do get the point of self satisfaction of doing it yourself.
