Out for a leisurely drive and the squeaking seat belts on both front seats were sending me nuts.
Seat’s fully raised helped but didn’t cure it.

Bought 2 (black) wrist sweat bands today (adidas) which fit nice and snug over the seat belt mechanism.
Totally Stopped the squeak from the seat belt mechanism, squeaking against the leather.

Back to peace and quiet and listening undisturbed to that gorgeous V8.

Is that where the receiver for the buckle rubs on the seat bolster?

Yes felix that’s right.
Creaks and squeaks and rattles send me crazy.
I hardly ever have the radio on. To me the music is coming from under the bonnet. Especially now when the turbos are spooling up.

I use these to good effect. Though after the buckles are sorted I had to chase more where the leather seat base meets the plastic surrounds.

They look like a neat solution, will see if I can get some. Currently I have 2 sections of felt/cloth folded between the seat and the buckle to stop the noise! But agreed the chirping is annoying!

There is a a soft section built into the seat for this purpose.
But it’s never in the place where the seat belt receiver is.
So you end up with the receiver rubbing against the leather.

Been out in the car all day today. Not a single squeak.

I used to jam my wallet between the plastic surround (near the seat controls) and the leather seat base. That's where the majority of squeaks came from for me. Owning a 6 helps keep the wallet thing so it doesn't put too much pressure on the plastic.

I got rid of those squeaks by raising the seat to max.
Been ok since.

I'm quite tall, so find the seating position a bit on the high side for my liking. Keep wanting it about an inch lower

I am 6 foot 1. I find it perfect for me. I have the seat adjusted almost all the way back as well. Rarely need the sun shade unless it is directly in front.

Hardly ever have passengers in the rear seats, so once I have set the seat position it hardly ever needs to be moved.
I am also the only driver and have nothing to compare it with as the 6 is my daily driver.

I think it's the contrast, my daily is an e61, and the seat is much lower in the car, or certainly feels so relative to the steering wheel/window line. Moving between them, the RS6 makes me feel I'm sitting ontop of it, haha.

It’s one of those things that is an individual preference.
With my seat lowered down. The plastic side trim on the seat would creak all the time.
I messed around for a fix. But then found that with a higher setting of the seat, the noise was eliminated.
So stayed with it.

On the wallet front. I don’t own one anymore.
When I bought the RS6 I found that I was constantly carrying round an empty wallet.
So stopped having a wallet.

How do you stop the wife from squeaking about the wallet situation?

Easy. Tell her nothing. Get to the letter box first when the postman arrives.
Finally plead ignorance.

I thought there was a rule on here.
Don’t tell your partner what you spend on the car !

That should definitely be a rule
