Currently trying to buy a new pollen filter housing and seal.
Not having much luck at the moment.
Anyone have 1 for sale ?

Really annoyed at the rubbish OEM foam seal.
We must be capable of doing a lot better than that.

Even if it’s a rubber seal, cut to length, with the ends vulcanised together.

You can get sheets of neoprene rubber foam on Amazon. Just cut your own.

Hi Steve!

Those frames are becoming very difficult to find. I actually need one myself as it’s cracked. Audi Tradition had them in stock until about a month ago. Good news is that it’s the same part for LHD and RHD. Shall I let you know if I find a good deal on a new one?

What else takes the same size pollen filter? Could just pinch a frame from another VAG car I'd assume?

Otherwise it might be a job for the carbon fibre dude to make...

Yeah! I’m quite sure James could make one from carbon fibre, but the I guess the cost would probably be around £150+ ? I’m not convinced there’s enough demand yet.

Yes please Craig. let me know if you find them.

Mine is fairly new. About 2-3 year old I think. Renewed it when I had a new screen installed and that nut at the back was easily accessible.

If it's just plastic then someone with a 3D scanner and printer could perhaps make them?

I have had James look at making there’s from carbon but he’s said it will be far to expensive. I have currently got a lad I know who does 3D printing looking at/into it.

Once I have an update I’ll let you all know👍🏼

Wes. Let us know about the 3D printing option if it transpires.

I have just had reply about these pollen filter housing.

I will be looking at around £500 initial cost to have it scanned and turned into a CAD file. This will also produce the first one out of print too.

They will then be around £200 each for every one printed their after.

If I can gain enough interest I am willing to push the button an start the ball rolling.

I would want a deposit paid by every person wanting one after the initial one.

If you interested start a list of names and stuff so I can gauge the amount of interest. These will also come with a new rubber seal on the bottom too.

Hi Wes. If we are going down the manufacturing route would it be possible to redesign it.
Basically to include a top cover ? To once and for all eliminate water ingress.

If not I would still have one of these. Just to get rid of that stupid foam seal.

Carbon customs uk already do a scuttle panel with no holes to eliminate the water ingress

That looks really good.
Where does the excess water drain

It all goes down the original drain holes behind the bulk head an down the side of the wings/front wing mounts
