I've just added a battery jump point in the engine bay of my C5 RS6 so you don't have to go down into the spare wheel well to get to the terminals. A useful mod for the annoying problem with these RS6's
Here is the Video:

Just finished watching it. Awesome job! How are your cam tensioners behaving after the detective work you did in the previous rs6 video?

It's an unforgivable omission. I could barely believe it when I discovered there wasn't one. It was after having backed my car up against a wall and had the battery go flat so I couldn't open the boot or move the car forward because of no power to get it out of park.

I haven't had a single problem since! So what ever that little bit if rubber sticking the solonoid was, no more appeared

Good stuff Ron.
That’s where I’ve got my charger connector. Cable isn’t long enough to reach round the back and I don’t like reversing into my drive.

That sounds like a euphemism.

Ron, that's a really nice job and great video.
In 12 years i've never locked myself out, but ??
Would you be up for doing that for other forum members?

I'll lock you out, if you want.

I have often wondered about locking myself out.
As :
If I am sat in the drivers seat and parked up. The doors will automatically lock. So I open the drivers window slightly which stops the automatic locking.
Same at the car wash. Before I exit I will open a window slightly.
I have also been known to carry the spare key in my pocket

Good thinking

I think that can be coded out using
VCDS, I recall turning that function on shortly after buying the car.

Most unexpected door locking events are caused by faulty microswitches inside the lock mechanism. The door doesn't know it's been opened, so the car locks itself again.

Yes I know. Used to love detailing the car once a week.
Unfortunately health reasons means I can no longer do it.
She still gets a weekly wash and a good waxing every month but I have to rely on others.
