Hello Gents

I am looking at some alloys to go on the 6 but im not 100% on ET fitment , if the wheels are 8jx19 with an et of 26 , if I add a 10mm spacer would that bring the offset out to 36 or would it be 15 ?

Do you guys think these alloys will fit?

any assistance would be grateful

The real problem is the 8" width. You're losing an inch of contact with the road compared to the OE wheels. That's potentially 89% of the grip of the OE tyres.

With those wheels, at ET26, but with 12.7mm less each side because they are so narrow, your outer rim will come to 3.7mm further in than the OE wheels. You could put 10mm spacers on and that would bring it out to 6.3mm further out than the OE wheels which would look fine.

But 8" is too narrow IMO.

That was my next question !!!

I know the original wheels were 9j and these where 8j , would prefer the extra tyre contact so will look for 9js instead.

9 are a funny size. You will probably only find 9.5. What wheels has it got on it now?

It also depends on the profile of the alloy
My original alloys had a et of 35. They were fitted with a 5 mm spacer to stop them fouling the front brake caliper.

I eventually bought a set of new alloys with a et of 35. I was told that these wouldn’t foul the calipers.
Guess what. They did and were returned for a full refund.

By chance I was having new tyres fitted. I was offered a new set of Audi alloys at a ridiculous price.
They were et 35.
I said they would foul on the calipers.
Try them he said which I did.
Guess what they indeed fitted very nicely.

So I guess if at all possible try before you buy.

I certainly wouldn’t be fitting a narrower alloy and tyre. For the reasons stated above by shoppinit.
My current alloys are 19x9 et 35

Subjective I know, but personally don't like them & will be hard to clean.
OEM or Rotors

Yeah, I agree. It's hard to beat the OE wheels.

Sometimes you don’t have a option.
I inherited warped and split alloys.
Had them repaired but they soon went slightly oval.
I also wanted rid of the flimsy spacers.

Totally agree original is best.
But events sometimes take you on another course.

Think I will look for the original ronals 9x19 ET35 , if any one has a set in the northwest let me know.

My RS6 come with 20" speeline and the wrong size tyres which I think where fitted because the wheels dont fit , the tyres are strethed so the side wall is tapered so they will clear the arches.

You also have the S5 optional 20 inch wheels that are 9 wide

These are great looking wheels and suit the C5 nicely, I find.

Foxmeister , there the same wheels as mine , but i think my ride height is far to low , could you tell me the distance between the centre of your wheel to the arch , luckily my 6 has has decent coilovers fitted so i can adjust the ride height as currently theres no space between the tyre and the arches ,my plan has allways been to add more ride hieght but I dont know the original ride hieght.

If they are the ET29 wheels then they fit pretty bang on, should be 255/265 tyres to suit and mine clear everything, no issues

I’m on Bilstein PSS9’s and they are set a bit lower than standard but I like it, those pics don’t show it great as the gradient where I’m parked is skewed, but I’ll try get some flat ground and measure for you

If you've already got some of the nicest wheels for the RS6, why do you want to change them? And if you do can I have your old ones.

I have a set of original wheels sat in my garage still. Been there for a few years now.
