RS6 Gearbox expert recommendations

I'm looking for recommendations for a RS6 gearbox expert, someone who is capable of pulling the gearbox from my RS6, rebuilding it, and bolting it back in...ideally with a warranty! Preferably in the south-west, birmingham, bristol, oxford etc, Unit 20 is a longggg way away.
Its a 3k box, but is slipping 2-3 and will bounce the limiter if you pull out of a junction, no fault codes and all the live data looks ok, so I think it needs rebuilding.

Thats very interesting! Seems like its worth pulling the VB off and taking a look, before I give someone 3-5k to replace a nearly new box! Is this a relatively common problem?

Yeah, I've heard of a few cases. Worth checking.

You might want to have a chat with Radoslaw at autotrans - Wembley. 07743 568202
He used to have a C5 RS6 and has serviced mine in past.
I recently had our BMW serviced and dicussed options if/when my RS6 box needs a rebuild. He said he can do everything including upgrades.
He's not great on communications, but really helpful when you get hold of him.
Let us know how you get on.

If anyone is interested I have done a transmission service and used Amsoil signature series ATF. I did 2 changes at 200ks apart. Transmission is running much smoother with good changes. Under $300au for 9.2 litres. Me think it's great value.
Done just under 1000ks so far and all good.

If I had a failure, I'd always be wondering if it was because I didn't use the specified ZF stuff.

Given that it's no harder to get the genuine ZF stuff, I always do ZF oil. In fact, just had 7 litres arrive. And then read my own DIY and remembered that's not enough. DOH.

Heyup guys, if I could just add this to the thread and also an update on a thread I started back late last year regarding the same. After having the usual transmission issues widely experienced with the 5HP24, I’ve done what most have probably done on here and researched into the causes of why the box fails. Come to a couple of conclusions and decided to get it done by a pro as work is busy etc etc. Tbh I’m gobsmacked by professionals lack of knowledge and understanding with this whole problem. After visiting an expert Audi garage in the North West after a recommendation, I left totally bewildered. The transmission garage they used were happy to just replace like for like with OEM internals which kind of left me thinking how long before I’m back here again..? I’ve managed to source a complete box from a breakers which had 90k on. The parts
Sticker on the box saying remanufactured in 2008. I’m fast approaching the idea of tearing the box down myself and replacing the issues with upgraded parts I’ve sourced in the US. I know tractor boxes are different but , hey let’s give it a go. I have absolutely no faith in absolutely anyone I’ve managed to contact let alone the guys who actually got back to me. ZF have enough info online and I’ve a spare box….

Good call. IPT and Level 10 in the US sell rebuild kits that are supposed to strengthen the box. You could check out their wares. If not then other than a couple of specials tools that you need there’s no reason why you couldn’t do it yourself if you’re a bit handy.
Let us know how it goes.

This the route I’m going down,I’ve had a spare box for years that needs a rebuild I’ve managed to get hold of a guy in the US that can upgrade the valve body and hes also putting the final touches to upgrading the clutch pack using dct clutch’s and using 7 instead of 5,I’ve already got a upgraded TC and cooling system for it.
