Reg shows the following ad, from last year. Guessing that was the asking price for the car with broken gearboxImage

Hmmm unless the miles on the previous ad were rounded up it appears to have lost a few…. Advertised at 148500. You would initially look at that purchase price and say nice mark up but “if” it has been done properly, has new turbos as listed etc there is a lot of work (labour wise) in that car. Still not floating my boat but interesting

Love the colour. ( marmite?)
I would imagine that conversion and all the work would not have come cheap, even if he did alot himself. Many hours of work.

From the inquiries I’ve made for a manual conversion you’re looking at between £6-£7k alone for a fully fitted 6speed with no corners cut.

I don’t get manual RS6s. If I wanted a manual I’d just buy a decent manual. In fact I did.
Daytona RS6 C5 Avant. Viper'd, Billies, Waggers, MTM box brain, C6 stoppers, xcarlink, R8 coolant cap (woohoo)
///M3 E46 | XC90 (V8, natch) | Passat GTE | RR Classic V8 flapper

Personally I agree however what options are left for us to sort out a reliable auto box for these cars now let alone in another 5 years. 🤷‍♂️

I looked into it as I’m toying with taking on Footlongs beast (oh err).

Sorting out some kind of upgrade kit now wouldn't be a bad plan. I can't imagine wanting a manual in it. It suits an auto. The existing auto isn't too bad if you keep it serviced and keep an eye out for leaks/F125 switch bother.

I can't help thinking that it would be easier to strip down and fix a 5HP24A than force a manual box into the RS6. Everyone must do what works for them, though.

I’ve met the guy(polish) as there my old seats in it he’s done all the work himself.I’m pretty sure it’s all different coloured panels under the wrap too.

Each to his/her own.
Personally I love the auto box. It just feels right for this car.
