Starting problem

Recently my car has been having some strange issues starting. If the car is cold and I try to start it, on frequent occasions, the engine will turn over and runs for about a second or two then stalls. If I start it up again right after this, it runs without a problem. I also do not notice this problem if the car has already been driven or warmed up and started. Is this a sign of my starter staring to go bad, or is it an ignition or fueling issue. There are no problems driving the car and no codes coming up.

Could be the Crank Position Sensor, could be a bad fuel pump, could be a weak battery. Start with the easiest path and scan it for codes.

I had a similar issue with mine which was a temperature sensor that was always reading as hot. So on a cold start up the car would not be given enough fuel for a cold start.

Ah good point. Forgot about that one too. A scan would also help diagnosing that one.

Scan won't help if the temp values are not implausible.
Use
VCDS to log the temperature of the 2 coolant temperature senders when cold to see what they are reading.

Hey mark. Yeah this was my problem a few months ago.
Changed the temp sensor and all was good again.
Also as shopp suggested.
Check the temps using
VCDS.
My car was cold. But was saying something like 60 degrees IIRC.
