Hi all,

New-ish RS6 owner here (I'll get a thread up at some point!)

On a recent service and health check it was noted that there was a possible weep from the lower sump gasket. This has turned more into a leak and it appears to be coming from the oil pipes here after having the under tray removed, rather than from the sump.



Which would indicate the following replacement parts:

4B3317815B
4B3317816B

These are now obsolete from Audi and carry the usual RS tax, has anyone managed to find a good aftermarket solution with ready to go parts or is it a case of taking it off and taking it to a hydraulic specialist to copy?

The main leak is coming from the bottom flexi section so the hose has failed, the top one could be tightened I guess but I may as well replace for a better part whilst I'm at it.

Yeah, that thread now covers both hoses. My original DIY covered the RHS/OS hose and if you look at the last couple of posts on it, Classik also found a fitting that just about clears for the LHS/NS hose too now. If you DIY it, do teflon hoses though. Much nicer.

Teflon looks great, thanks. I've started putting all the bits in a spreadsheet like a nerd so will share that if it all still works.

For info, I've spoken to RS Car Parts in Germany who have made an OEM like substitute for the supply pipework:

They'd also consider doing a return version but I'm waiting on more information. No idea on quality compared to the DIY versions posted above!

The hardline that runs across the top is hard to replicate DIY.

Classik found a fitting that just about fits, but FWIW, when I had to do the supply side with the hard line in, I was lucky and got one of the last Audi ones as a preference to DIYing it.
The hardline is a better solution, assuming you can save the oil cooler threads well enough when dismantling.

The other side (return I guess) - if you do it in teflon, it's decent enough IMVHO to have it all in teflon hose.

Maybe it's the painkillers you are on. How's your leg?

Good thanks. Cast was removed yesterday, now in an airboot and able to put weight on the leg again, which means I can walk, albeit a bit clonky. Still better than crutches though.
Just hope he fixed it "properly" - he didn't have to completely detach the tendon and then staple back on, which gives a quicker recovery. I just hope he did enough to enable a full recovery, I'm super determined to waterski again this summer - that's my challenge to get fit enough to get round the slalom course again.

I just ordered the last one from RS Car Parts (sorry!) I'll report back on its quality and if they can offer up a return pipe option too.

Failing that the Teflon looks great.

Have you succeeded to identify the exact location of your oil leak? Athough they were far from pretty, those oem lines never failed on me and in my case oil leaks were only due to damaged threads on the oil cooler.
