New RS6 owner!

Hello all,

Quick introduction, my name is Alex and I have just purchased my bucket list car.

I have been a Vw/Audi nut for years, I own a mk2 golf Gti track ready and road legal with a 2.0 abf engine and a Audi S2 turbo setup.
Previous cars have been mk4 golf R32, Audi S3 2018 facelift, Audi S4 avant 2020 tdi which I changed this year for an Audi Q5 which is my wife’s daily (trying to be more sensible)

I drive a man tge van as my daily for work and being a petrol head I got bored really quickly after getting rid of the s4. So started looking for an old but fun car for me to play with. Looked at r32’s again, s4 b5’s etc but a lovely rs6 kept popping up. More than I wanted to spend but it was lovely and it had a lot of work done to it as well.

Audi RS6 C5 2003 in black with black leather seats and alcantara head lining with 140,000 on the clock. Mileage scares me a little especially with the gear box but the car has been looked after and if I continue to keep good care of it then hopefully it will serve me will.

Full respray in February and a ceramic coating
Wheels powder coated
Window tints
Genuine timing chains
Genuine tensioners
Genuine rocker cover gasket
Genuine neutral gearbox sensor
Pagid front and rear discs and pads
ATE brake fluid
HEL brake lines
Motul gear 300 ls diff oil
Castrol engine oil
ITG air filters
Bosch oil, fuel & pollen filters
New cv boots
ZF gearbox fluid and filter
Febi bilstein water pump + thermostat
Gates cambelt kit
Gates aux belt
New pulleys and idlers
Reconditioned alternator
Surefire coilpacks
NGK spark plugs
Decat downpipes
Exhaust heat wrapped
Drivers front window regulator
New windscreen
Front door lock actuators
Mayle nearside rear abs sensor
TA tecknik coilovers
15mm wheel spacers
Maxton front splitter
Heko wind deflectors
Wagner bumper grilles
MRC stage 2 engine + gearbox tune where it made 517ps & 785nm on Tesco momentum fuel

It needs a new rear bumper sensor which arrived today. I want to change the headlight switch and heater control panel because they’re badly worn. And fit an apple car play head unit.

Does anyone know what cables I need for an aftermarket head unit?

FON

Car looks good. Is it from a forum member?

I thought 15mm spacers would be too much but it looks good on your photos.

Never heard of an RS6 on TA Technix coilovers.

Someone will no doubt answer your headunit question.

Here’s the BOM from getting an Alpine installed my RS6, part numbers are from inCarTec, ie https://incartec.co.uk/product/Audi-ISO ... 20-270-IGN

my install was done by the awesome Phil Neil of Audio Advice NI, included a reversing camera

Very nice. Welcome to the club.
Hope you enjoy many miles of fault free motoring.
Regular service intervals and correct warming up and cooling down procedure will help

Welcome aboard. Great looking '6, good find.
Not sure about the stage 2 tune though, MRC can normally get at least 550+ from the BCY.
Looking forward to reading about your RS "journey"

Thank you for all the welcome messages.

I currently have a standard headunit.

The car is already De-cat but with stock rear exhaust. I believe the owner didn’t want to push the car too much? I might ring MRC and see if they remember the car.

I was under the impression that a stage 2 tune involved cat delete. Not sure. It's all a bit smoke & mirrors in the tuning world...
OP, are all cats still active?

I recently learned that the OEM CATs are still
available from Audi, £1,200 for one side & £1,700 for the other side

Looking at the power, seems likely the "stage 2" was to do tweaked/custom tune on the rollers rather than the off the shelf stage 1 "lady map" myself and some others have.
Power looks on a par with a "stage 1", having all the cats still in & stock, I reckon?

I'd agree. MRC coaxed 576ps & 880Nm from mine. Zero cats though...so "stage 2"?
