£1000 discs!?
£1000 discs!?
Looks like my C5 is needing new discs and they seems to have doubled in price since I last looked on ECP. Pre discount they are £1K per corner which makes then around £550 each with the current discounts. That seems nuts to me.
Does anyone have any up to date recommendations for disc suppliers at sensible (ish) prices?
If I can't find std discs at a reasonable price I am considering the floating disc kit that Reyland make. Does anyone here have a set on a C5 who can comment on longevity etc?
Cheers.

Re: £1000 discs!?
I don't think Zimmerman make them any more, that's the issue. Autodoc has one for a good price, (LHS I think), but no stock of the RHS

Re: £1000 discs!?
Have to admit, I bought a pair when I saw them going out of stock. You could contact zimmerman directly. It's part numbers 100.3343.75 & 100.3344.75 for non-drilled I think.

Re: £1000 discs!?
Wowsers, so basically Audi are the only company still supplying them?

Re: £1000 discs!?
Might be. Or, zimmerman no doubt do them in batches and they'll do another batch soon....hence worth asking them. You'd be annoyed to buy Audi ones and then the zimmerman ones come back into stock a month later.

Re: £1000 discs!?
That linky above for 100.3344.75, the RHS disk, is the only zimmerman RHS one I can find for sale anywhere. Buy quickly....

Re: £1000 discs!?
I started to get hett up then realised I have C6 disks.

Re: £1000 discs!?
How hard is the conversion? At this rate, reckon there'll be a few going that way? It is new calipers too?
I was gonna change up my discs when I do the calipers, but at this rate the zimmermans can stay in the box until the current disks are completely knackered

Re: £1000 discs!?
It’s a pain for not much gain. Calipers not strictly necessary.

Re: £1000 discs!?
If you keep the existing calipers, might be worth looking at RS4 disks. Need to look at my drawings again. IIRC the RS4 disks have a very shallow hat.

Re: £1000 discs!?
im going with rayland next as it will work out cheaper in the long run as you can just change the discs and not the bells and always hear good things about there stuff(unless i can get ceramics cheap before that!) could also try RB racing a few guys on the Facebook group running them and have had no problems. taroxs also do a set and EBC have just started to do a set too.

Re: £1000 discs!?
Sounds like a plan - could you post some pics for future use?

Nice thanks! Large difference between each side on price!MattV8 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2019 10:43 pmHave to admit, I bought a pair when I saw them going out of stock. You could contact zimmerman directly. It's part numbers 100.3343.75 & 100.3344.75 for non-drilled I think.

Thanks all for the other responses also. I am currently thinking that I might put Raylands on the front, i like the idea of retaining the bells but will not bank on it as I am thinking on a road car they might be looking a little worse for wear by the time the discs are done (salt etc). Looks like I need fronts and rears though so may put Zimmerman on the back if I can find them.
Re: £1000 discs!?
I'm pretty sure I've heard that the R8 standard and RS5 wavy disks fit our RS6s
