I appear to of completely locked myself out of my stereo , anyone know what I do now. It’s not just the normal add code situation btw

Just wait 1 hour with power on. After that you are able to enter code again.

Yes, mine was like that when i bought it, had to leave it switched on whilst driving home as Heiki says, around an hour, then input the code as normal
