Window glass

Hi all,
Locked keys in car accidentally (wind blew door shut)
So ended up having to smash the near side rear door glass.
Autoglass don’t stock the glass, and won’t for at least 7 working days. Yet I go on holiday before that and need the car.
Is standard A6 glass the same? I can buy the setup for £60 on fleabay.
I’ve shrink wrapped the window to keep elements out, but I’d rather not have my car insecure for a week+.

No good to you now, but do you only have a single key for your car ?

Yes. A6 glass is the same.

Can't offer any advise other than to presume that the C5 A6 glass will fit.
Just for my own peace of mind though, why did the doors auto lock when the door blew shut? AFAIK, you can have the central locking programmed to auto lock when you drive off (mine doesn't) but I can't think of a scenario where you'd be locked out of the car with the keys still inside
(Obviously, there is a scenario as it's happened to you!)
Hope you get it sorted before you're off on holis.

If he had a bad door trigger I could see it happening.
Presses unlock, car doesn’t see a door open, timing fails perfectly and car auto relocks.

Autoglass managed to come out Tuesday afternoon and fit the new glass. Which was a shock as was just ordering a piece of glass from EBay

Shouldn't do if you've opened a door/tailgate.
See post above re: bad door trigger.
