I want too het rid of the aftermarket HU that came with my car and go back to standard. Ive been offered an rnse plus from my mates 08 plate a4 avant . Will this be a straight plug and play job ? . He has the code for it so I guess that's one hurdle less to worry about .

The face plate is different, so you’ll need one from an A6. Could be a struggle to code it depending on how recent it is. 08 might be ok. Can’t remember off hand.

Cheers Ben, I think it's worth having a go at though , specially as it's not cost me a thing . What's the score with coding them ? . I cant say one actually coded any modules on
VCDS as yet

There are plenty of RNSD to RNSE guides around. Have a look in Footlong’s repository.
I’m struggling to remember but I think there was an issue with getting the unit to power off with the ignition on later (non A6) models. There’s probably a solution though.
