MRC- Top quality customer service

I just want to say thank you to Doug and Ben
who have gone way beyond the realms of normal
customer service this week.

My car went up there to have a minor service and quote for a bumper respray on Wednesday.

They found a number of issues that needed addressing
(not least a usually trusted tyre supplier of mine fitting the wrong weight code Michelin PSS to one of the corners of my car).

When they found out I am driving to the Alps next week, even though it is the week before Christmas they booked my car in, lent me a vehicle (despite the fact their courtesy car was booked out) and moved hell and high water to get me a tyre and sort out a number of faults that they didn’t want me doing a continental drive with.

Every time I go to MRC I get superb service and it is WELL worth the trip from London.

Most companies have switched off this close to Christmas, great to hear they're clearly professionals through and through.

Keep meaning to get mine booked in for a health check but afraid of what they'll find :bowdown:

Top guys at mrc, I just got off the phone to Doug myself and booked my b7 in for mid jan. it is well worth the 140 mile round trip there, I wouldn’t trust my car anywhere else not even Audi main stealers (unless for minor oil change for history).

I am booked in for a health check on the 28th of December!! and if all goes well and they dont blow it up on the rolling road and its pushinv the right amount i may get a remap on the engine and gearbox while im there...
My car seems healthy and has had two health checks, one from Audi and one from my own superb wrench monkey so i may leave with a stage one next wk.
Should i do it?

Personally I wouldn’t even bother with a stage 1, depending on your budget why not bring it alive and move to stage 2 with a few other mods?

I still remember when I went stage 2 on my b7 and I came back to a 7k bill for all parts and work! But I’d do it all over again it’s a completely different car. Next step is to charge it but I’m holding off as Iv read about the new Tts 900hp rated charger which is in development :P

I Know what you are saying. It’s amazing how a simple service can end up at 7k though.... I do all necessary jobs on any of my cars to make sure they are tip top however I couldn’t afford to get them all done at once.... It’s a continual drip feed... And if necessary and I have to save up, the car stays garaged until funds allow her to be fettled.

Simple answer - "YES!" Well worth it - you will notice the difference in performance, and the improved shift etc on the box. One of the first things I had done and never regretted it!

Oh, and the next thing is the ARB's if you haven't already got them done - that really is the best £500 I have spent on the Beast.

No not at all.

The way I see it is, If you’re going to buy a RS vehicle esp one over 10 yrs old, you’ll need the money put aside for maintenance or you’ll end up with a dog. The market is full pieces of <beep> because people can’t fork out when things go wrong. It was just unfortunate for me that everything came at once.

I’m dreading the time when my drc pops or oil cooler is gone but I’m expecting it at some point and have budgeted for it.

Most of that bill was maintenence as it was a standard vehicle. Needed a new clutch and de coking. Milltek, sparks, coil packs, and then the rest for stage 2 it added up very quick.

I think the general consensus with MRC is that they will do a hell of a job with your car once you successfully get it booked in.

Just don’t expect an easy time getting it booked in!

Nah stage one is fine for the moment, gearbox needs quickened up and the extra power is appreciated when i put my foot down.
I will also be spending 1k on a stereo if my luck holds out soon to. I have another car too and not bottomless pockets. Im actually doing the third year of a degree at ripe old age.....so again not made of money. Mrs and kids also.

Thanks Dave. I there a remarkable difference in performance? It will not have any other mods. If i go to stage two these will be added then.
I also have problems parking where i am and its a f£&kjng headache. Where i was supposed to store the car has fell through so im gutted. I would not have bought it if i had known this prior.
Then to top my luck off i parked her just over the curb lip and reversed and you can guess the result. I gave two mates that have done the same thing, one audi, one golf. I was a bit lickier...😬
