Hi guys,
Thinking of going to look at a c5 estate in gray, it's a friend of a friend sort of thing. It's done nearly 200,000 miles but i think it's cheap? I'm sure u guys will know what it's worth? It's got part history but that's all I know and it's ready for discs and pads! I have a b7 rs4, an I know what the discs and pads cost for that! Am I looking around the same £1k price tag?
And tips to looks for at that mileage? I know the auto box has a few problems and the Drc like mine. Is there anything else to look out for cheers!

Ok - cut the grumps!!

First how about going to the sticky threads and taking a look at the buyers guide?? Might be more productive than sitting watching the view counter!

Disks and pads all round are going to be somewhere north of £2k I reckon. You may well need new calipers as well as the seals will be well worn unles they have already been done.

Mines done 190K and most issues are just age/wear and tear. A lot depends on how well it's been looked after so far. Anything rubber etc will be perishable, but many things mayhave been done already.

DRC should be fine if it's been changed in last few years to the latest upgrade. Box may well be shot, but some seem to survive forever - I suspect it has a lot to do with driving style.

Oh - and did I say stop grumping!!

Dave

You realise that the 52 views could have been by b7 owners!
Patience and use the search function, that's your best friend on here.

Something tells me this guy won't be buying that Rs6 as no one is willing to spoon feed. Probably for the better as these motors are big boys toys, and my mummy says I not allowed to share

You occasionally get these posters that think the world owes them an answer immediately. I once had some really rare and sought after firmware for a bit of IT kit and people would pm me for it. The number of people who didn't bother to say please or thank you was shocking. Needless to say I didn't send it to those people.

It's an interesting internet phenomenon where people perceive things like forums as a service "put there" for them rather than a group of people with their own things going on. These people tend to interact with a forum as with a vending machine, getting frustrated when the Twix doesn't fall immediately.

/philosophy off.
