Water leak

Post by gedRS » Thu Jul 06, 2017 2:50 pm

Well i found the source of the drip drip drip from the engine. Turns out it is an 'o' ring next to the oil cooler....engine out to fix for the sake of a £3 part if not less....what a pain in the arse. Anyone know how much to get an engine out, might as well do everything when its on the lift i guess....Going to be a good buy when i sell up unless anyone wants her now :)

Think it's the plastic pipe that runs from block to oil cooler - the originals break up over time. There is a metal upgrade you can get "buffkin" from a guy in the US. Get that on order now.

The oil cooler is also part of the engine mount but I'm sure there was a rumour that it could be removed without the engine coming out.

As for engine out jobs, the search will be your friend for that one. It's been covered a few times now and the list is realllly long!

Thanks guys, i just got to find someone local to get the engine out and replace it now....what a pain ! I will add this to offset the pleasure of owning an RS6 for the last 11years :)

I ordered one from them about a year ago. It arrived from the States in about a week! Very good service.
