Rear output seal

After my recent visit to unit 20, Martin advised me that the transfer output seal was leaking and needed replacing with the updated flange and seal. Unknown to us both at the time was that the updated seal and flange had been fitted by the stealers in July 2014.

Now I know audi parts come with a 2 year warranty and I'm 6 months over this but with this being an "updated part" and the original one lasting 11 years @ 75k and the updated version lasting 2.5 years @ 15k is it worth an argument with audi or am I wasting my time and shall I just suck it up and fix it my self?
With it having the updated flange I assume I can just get the seal like in the DIY and fit that?
