Well my RS quietly slipped into a coma over night....not even central locking will work....I have a vague recollection of some kind failure due to a puddle of water in passenger foot well, can anyone point me in the right direction please.....?

Ok i found where the water was coming from....yes a blocked drain hold under the coolant expansion bottle, several litres drained out once un blocked....so now i guess i have to wait for the foot well to dry out and im guessing replace whatever is down there under the carpet ?

Get the TCU and convenience module out and get as much water out as possible asafp. Then liberally spray their circuit boards with WD40 to displace the water. Then spray with contact cleaner to get rid of the WD40 and then cross your fingers.

Do the same to the electrical plugs for them.

Remove the carpet and dry thoroughly.

also find any loom wiring joints under the carpet and give them the same treatment as Shop said with the wd40 and them contact cleaner

Yep. Probably a good idea to re-solder the joins in the loom (with the rubber bullets on) mine looked fine but caused me all sorts of problems until I stripped them back and soldered the joints again. Seriously, even if they do look fine. Just do them again!

Nver tried it with an ECU but drowned iPhones can be saved with rice - it absorbs moisture and qucikens the drying out process...

Presumably silica gel is even more effective then.

Yeah, there's a big 200A fuse under there. Might have corroded away to nothing. You'll have to get the expansion tank out of the way to see it.
