Thoughts on sale price

Afternoon all,

Sadly I am arriving at a time when I must sell my C5 RS6+. I am returning to Ireland where road tax is a very reasonable Euro2350 a year (!) plus other exorbitant costs and rubbish roads/risk of theft. As such, I am forced to part with my pride and joy.

I am hoping to get an idea of what might be a reasonable price to ask for it from those in the know on here. Some details are as follows:

Nov 2004 (54 plate) NI plate, No. 369/999

Black, estate, cognac brown leather interior with usual Plus extras

Fully standard except conversion to coil overs

I am third owner (had it 2.5 years) and have taken excellent care of it and only ever used premium fuel, extensive folder of receipts etc

95k miles

RNS-E

Full service history- mixture of Audi and specialist

Had cambelt etc done twice by Audi at 38k and 75k

Full gearbox rebuild at 85k

Alternator/battery replaced 80k

4 new Michelin PS3 tyres

In superb running order.

The downsides:

Some signs of its age, although very minor-some minor scratches in piano black inlay, its 11 years old and is never going to look new but is in very good condition throughout, in my view.

Slight clouding of headlights

Rotating switch for driver info system by handbrake does not work.

It is due a service in Apr/May and will likely need discs/pads on front, which I will get done plus anything else prior to sale.

Any ideas of what might be a fair price to seek would be greatly appreciated. To say I am gutted to part with it after investing so much is an understatement.

Cheers all.

D

GLWS. Shame you can't store it for a few years. Plus prices are on the up.

They don't come up that often and prices will rise. There have been a couple on Pistonheads, both advertised by the same dealer at £19K which I think is very high. One is now sold but what it went for I do not know.
I have a Plus but do not intend to change for a while. If I were, I would go in at £13K and see what the response is.

Mate I am normally of the opinion that a plus does always justify the higher price. The two for sale as mentioned above put me off because of dealer and higher mileage. I paid £12k for a mint rs6 in Dec last year same condition as yours with 85k as the extra £7k for a worse condition high mileage was a no no. I think £13k is on the cheep side. As I said even though I decided not the silly price of the £19k high mileage your condition for £15k I would have bought it.

Hard to value maybe 13k maybe less

I guess if someone wanted a plus, it would be on DRC standard plus exhaust

When is the cambelt due , in time not mileage , any other big hit items coming up

If your talking about the 19k blue plus with Mrc stage2 , it's been for sale by various people for the last few years

Thanks everyone for your input.

Stuartph, Cambelt was last done by Audi 20k miles and 2 years ago so not due anytime soon. The only costs I can foresee coming up are its annual service, and likely discs and pads on the front, which I will sort before sale. However, one never quite knows.... either way, I will have it all proper and correct prior to sale. I am not out to palm off a car with issues onto some poor sod.

I will prob list it for £15k and be willing to accept a bit less, if needs be.

any thoughts on piston heads Vs eBay Vs Autotrader etc?

thanks
