Milltek fitting guide

Post by Rstoney » Sun Dec 27, 2015 6:33 pm

I'm off to get my milltek cat back fitted tomorrow at my mates workshop, as it's a 2nd hand system and come without any instructions, is there anything we should be worried about?

I've noticed there is the brace bar brackets on the milltek and there are two additional brackets further up (near the hanger brackets) do the two sides join together here or should there be another brace bar?

Also do you retain the original sleeves from the downpipe end and sleeve the milltek onto the standard system (same as before) or do you just use the milltek reducers?

Sorry if they seem like dumb questions, just don't want to seem like too much of an idiot when he wants me to help!

1. Milltek only sleeves, IIRC.
2. 2 sides join together.
3. Do it all up very loosely and spend a fair bit of time tweaking everything to get it just right. Takes a few goes unless you're lucky.
4. You're supposed to use high temperature silicone to seal all the joints too, IIRC.

No the brace bar goes at the rear and a nut and bolt at the front but I couldn't get the lugs anywhere near each other when it was fitted to my car so i just left it out..
