Hi all,

What source of oem brake discs would you recommend, apart from eurocarparts or audi?

Thank you

Wow, I didn't realize you could pick up the zimmerman discs so cheap! £169 ea from that 123spareparts site. Cheers Shopp!

Maybe I should store my 380mm's and just put them back on for nurburgring trips.

They can be as cheap as you want, they're out of stock....

I could get plain discs from eurocarparts as the vented/perforated ones are also out of stocks.

Is there a supply issue on those discs that we can only get them from audi?

No, just order them and wait for them if you want the Zimmies. They turn up eventually.

If you're in a rush then you'll have to go to Audi / TPS.

Personally I prefer the non-drilled.

Good point, the drilled discs always crack if you're hard on them

Yep, I ordered a set of fronts last night from them & expect delivery early next week.

For extra pikey points, you can get 8% cash back with quidco too.

Goodyear f1s or Miches. Oh sorry, thought it was another tyre thread.
Wonder how many tyre/ brake threads there have been this year?
previous- Pug 205 gti, 306 gti, 309 gti Goodwood.
Audi S3, S4 V8 avant.
Porsche Macan Turbo.
Gone but NEVER forgotten - C5 RS6 Misano red avant.

Now - Empty garage

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there!

My rear discs are worn and could do with replacing so reading this thread decided to 'go see' and remind myself of the condition, they are the discs which were on the car when I got it. So on the rear right and the rear left identical discs have been fitted i.e. a disc for the left side, the arrow for rotational direction is obvious. Dunno how I missed that...

It's been fine, there is a slight vibration under light braking from the rear but I assumed that was just the discs getting worn. What is the difference between left and right and is this a critical issue, dangeroos?

I don't think it makes any difference. The C6 front disks aren't directional and that's not a problem. The rears don't do enough work to cause issues unless there's a frank problem with them.

Has anyone that recently purchased from 123spares had an email saying that unless you transfer all the money into their bank, they will cancel the order??

I found that a bit odd TBH.

They have a few payment options at checkout & bank transfer is one of them. You should have been able to pick credit card or paypal too though?

yeah, I picked and paid via credit card, the transaction went through, and on speaking to my card company, the payment is being processed but ive now got the email asking that send money in a bank transfer.

from their email:

"We must inform you that, with regards to your order under Order Number RDxxxxx, we can only process your order on advance payment. Please transfer the outstanding sum of 714.70 GBP, taking care to mention your Order Number, into our account.

just seems a bit odd, hence why I thought I would ask if they've done it to anyone else.
