introduce & look for photo's OE harness/hose layout engine

Post by AudiS2700Hp » Mon Sep 07, 2015 6:26 pm

Hello!, I'm Roy from Holland.
I already own a 99' A8 and Audi S2 709Hp and currently bought a 03' RS6 :D I got the car for a good price because the gearbox is broken and it has some other small issues to sort out. I will repair the gearbox myself and will update photo's from my progress here. I already removed the engine and gearbox from the car but i noticed the people how worked on it before ware not very good at it  Some bolts are missing, loose or damaged. Also some clips and plastics are broken or missing. I'm also not sure of the engine wiring and hosed are routed on the right way. So i'm looking for good quality photos from a engine which is removed but has al the wiring and hoses on the OE way routed. It would by very helpful :jump_clap:

Rule 1 on the S2.

Looking at those pictures has given me a headache.

:jump: Haha okay i will post some photos of the S2 but then i expect some very good RS6 engine photos in return now

The S2 looks stock on the outside but has a lot of modifications. A build 2.2 i5 with Precision 6262BB turbo. Running 2.4bar on E85. Also running a dog-box and total weight is 1350Kg :kissmyrings: 100-200 in around 5.8 sec. Oh yeah it also has a stock looking exhaust :<beep>_you:

That is GSXR quick! Faster than a Koenigsegg, too.

The boost heathen in me has a massive hard on.

Thanks for the comments guys! I'm sorry for my late response but im very busy with work at the moment. And yes i looks on the internet for some photo's. Just hoped some one made a lot of high quality photos (like me) when taking the engine out for the first time (unlike mine :biggrin2: )

Hope to remove the gearbox from the engine this week. Worked on a lot of cars but this is the next level :audibash:

ROY...FON.

Welcome. Really nice cars ...love the engine bay on the S2, - looks like you have partitioned the turbo off quite nicely in the S2.
Thanks

I took a few low quality photos when I took my motor out the first time,
90% of it is logical (e.g. the actual engine loom - there's really only 1 way it'll fit).
The routing of the main power to the starter & alternator looks complicated - but again, really only 1 way it'll fit.
The snakes nest of plug near the power steering reservoir, plus the EGT & Lambda sensor lead routing & plug locations are the only one you "must" get right as they snake across the gearbox and once in, you're pretty committed.

Thanks MattV8 :thumb:

Started on the gearbox today. Looks all fine except for the friction plates on the A drum. They are burned and worn. I will soon order the parts so i can start the rebuild :nodder:
