Variable boost controller

Bit of a long shot, but has anyone fitted a variable boost controller to their RS6. I appreciate that the max boost will be limited by the ECU, but just wondered (a) if anyone has done it and (b) if it makes any real difference to the performance.

Cheers

What's wrong with just using the accelerator pedal?

It already has a boost controller valve, controlled by the ECU. I absolutely would not override this. If you want more power, use a different map. If you want less, put your foot down less. Doing anything else will cause problems since the ECU decides how much boost to request, then measures how much is being achieved. If the 2 differ too much, it'll raise an error.

No and no.

That is all.

variable boost controllers = no boost control, a custom remap is cheaper then a engine pull for new turbos!

Suitably flamed now?

Multi-map switching is the best way to achieve this.

Yes, I think it's fair to say he's cooking with gas.
