C5 Front bumper removal

Post by MarkPRS6 » Thu Jul 16, 2015 11:35 am

Hi

Sorry to be a pain, but can anyone point me towards a link or other information on how to remove the front bumper? I need to replace the horns on my car next week so the bumper has to come off and I really really don't want to damage it.

Cheers

Mmm. RS6.com seems to be definitively dead and all the tutorials linked to there are no longer visible. Maybe someone's got a pdf copy? Mav?

I might have one myself.

Looks like a good resource. I'm pretty sure I've come across his videos before but didn't realise there were so many.

My problem is that I hate YouTube tutorials. Often I just need a tiny bit of info and have to sit through a whole video to get the info I need (or not, as is often the case). A good written procedure you can skim and come back to the useful bit. I'll always to try find written info before resorting to YouTube, but that's just me.

I used to hate em. But, have also found instances where a minor nuance on a tricky bit is easily overlooked in a written guide.
The "is it meant to look like that" moment.

You know they've had fast forward since Betamax and V2000 days, Ben? 😂🥳

I made a jig using 2 scissor jacks on a frame with wheels and a a plank of MDF wrapped in foam. I can set the jig at the perfect height and angle to remove or fit the bumper. It's now an easy one person job.
