suspension woes/question?

Post by p19dro » Tue Jun 03, 2014 11:05 am

Hello all,

My 6 is currently sitting with the front up on axle stands awaiting a full suspension arm replacement and new CV boot. My question is, how safe is it to turn the front wheels? will it damage the Diffs at all if the front wheels are turned while lifted aloft and the rear wheels are in contact with the ground?

I've got the usual issues with the pinch bolts so it looks like the easiest way forward is to remove the hub carrier and play with it off the car.

Any advice would be most helpful.
Cheers,
Pete

No, you won't damage anything by turning by hand.

That's OK as long as the rollers are driven opposite to each other.

Actually, in theory, with a Torsen is shouldn't matter either way. :bash:

Stupid 4 wheel drives. I don't have this problem with my M3.
