Hi there, bit of an odd one this! When I had a Mondeo ST24 we used to get exactly the same sound due to resonating air bellows and we called it Moosing. Since I had the air filters replaced with MRC ones, new DV's and N75 in Jan at low throttle between 2000 and 2500rpm I'll occasionally get the same sound lasting for 1-2 seconds at most. There's no codes and no performance issues but I wondering if anyone else had this?

You get one long 2 second honk and 2 very short 0.5 second ones a few seconds later which are a bit harder to hear.

It looks like it's the new 710N DV's that are making the noise from everyones replies below. RS6's come with 710P DV's as standard and MRC fit 710N DV's to mapped cars as they can hold the increased boost better (less leaks) and it's these 710N DV's that are making the noise.

...what did you eat prior to that...?

Yes ive got the same noise on mine ! Around 2200rpm Cant really pin it down to anything in particular, i do really need to sort it though as its anoying

ian, what dv's did you fit in January?

Audi 710n's - stock replacements. My original 73K mile 710n's didn't make this noise so I wondered it it's just them "breaking in" but it's been 5k miles and still the same.

**EDIT** - Long range Edit incoming - I had 710P's fitted as standard not 710N's so my above post is wrong***

I hear it on the saloon, it's like a moan. I always though it was resonance or sommit.

Yep, this is my 710N noise too. See other thread. The standard 710P DV's will be going back on shortly.

Just to add ive now fitted 710P's and no more Moosing
