Newbie (Almost) Questions - Rear Badge, Load Cover and Mats

Hi Guys

I have almost, at last, bought an RS6 Avant. Just waiting (fingers crossed) for the RAC check to get done.

I have received some great advice so far. Many thanks.

There are a couple of minor bits and pieces that I would like to sort out when I get it.

1. The rear badge is in the wrong place on the boot. Does anyone know what the measurements are for where it should sit e.g. Distance from the bottom of the boot, and from the side?

I have found this badge on eBay which looks ok.

2. It's missing it's load cover. It has the cream / white leather seats. Is the load cover with the white / cream interior black, or is it white / cream.

3. I would like to buy a new set of carpet mats for the car. Any recommendations for a set?

4. The aerial is quite long. Any recommendations for a stubby replacement?

Many thanks

Get the badge from Audi.

Get the mats from Audi Tradition (see recent thread).

Get the Sharan stubby (see FAQ and umteen threads on the subject).

Cheers.

Apologies, didn't see those when searching before.

Couldn't find any info on the location of the rear badge when searching either. That would be very helpful, to save me getting a new badge and getting it wrong again :)

Speak to a friendly stealer as they have the exact measurements and placement guide

Brilliant, good idea. I will get that sorted with the dealer.

Hi.

Well done on the purchase.

Rule #1...

The load cover if it's the retractable roller blind affair, is always black. Should be a few out there for sale. Try "A8 parts" who often break C5s as a tip.

Not sure how useful a RAC inspection will be. MRC or Grizz would be a better option.

Yeah, I'm not 100% about that either myself, but I'm a bit hampered by time and location. Hopefully they'll pick up the basics, then I guess it's just a gamble :)

I'm really excited as I've wanted one ever since they came out. I was all set to get one in 2009, but changes to my company car scheme scuppered that. So, fingers crossed!

Whose nearest to the car ?, Grizz or MRC ?, phone them and ask them if they will inspect it for you.

If your concerned about the load cover, mats and aerial, you could end up with some major headaches if its not inspected properly and you commit to buying

Cheers.

The car seems good, with all the important bits done recently.

It's more that minor cosmetic things like those get on my nerves when buying a car.

I really appreciate all of your help. Hopefully I will be posting some pics up soon.

Just because the important bits have been done, do you know there working correctly though ? Will an RAC/AA guy know about the gearbox on one of these and if its OK or not ?
will he even know if its running properly ? sounds daft I know, but these are just a little bit different from the norm.
Highly unlikely you will get someone who knows there stuff with a 6 , unless there a specialist ......just sayin

All the minor cosmetic stuff you can get from breakers, dealers , so no worries there .
