Air Bag Light Help Please

Hi guys I have an issue with the airbag light that seems a little strange.

When I put my 3 month old daughters car seat in the back seats the airbag light comes on the dash, as soon as I take the seat out the light goes off.

Any ideas why this is, I was thinking maybe it is disabling that airbag but how the hell does it know its a car seat there ???

Pull up the rear seats - it might just be a loose wire. There are lots of wires under there from heated seats bits to YAW sensors for the ESP. I wouldn't be surprised if there is also sensors to check when people are sat down - and set off the airbags accordingly (similar to the ones that do warnings when you don't put your seat belt on).
