bit of smoke help please

Hi guys I recently had turbo replaced and I am after a bit of advice.

I am still getting some oil smelling smoke from my exhaust ( drivers side only ) on hard boost, now there are a few things to mention.

When the drivers side turbo blown I had a tow truck recover me and when he winched it on the truck a pool of oil spilt out the exhaust but again only D/S.
I have checked intercooler pipes and all are clean no oil in them, also not losing any water or oil and it is definitely oil smoke.

I am getting a little concerned now but could this just simply be the old oil in the exhaust still finding it's way out ? , I have been driving it very sensibly for at least 500 miles since the turbo was done but yesterday I opened it up and I discovered this smoke. I went out again today put it in sports mode and again got this smoke however not as much as yesterday.

Also noticed the oil temp went to around 105 after I gave it some beans is that normal?

Thanks!!!

Im guessing if the seals got blown on the turbo then oil would be pushed into the exhaust. Probably old oil, its fired into the turbo at a few bar mind you.

Yes the turbo was completely destroyed Shaft, Seals & bearings, what do you mean by being fired into the turbo ?

Oil is normally fed into the turbo under pressure to lubricate and cool the bearings, its around 40psi. So if the seal goes exhaust side, you will get all that oil going into the exhaust. Oil is under pressure one side of the seal, exhaust pressure on the other, sometimes putting a better flowing exhaust on can sometimes reduce pressure put on one side of the seal allowing some oil to seep through. Well thats what vauxhall used to claim if people had a turbo fail with aftermarket exhausts on... some truth, but issue was oil pressure into turbo was over 80psi... a restrictor mod soon came out ;)

Ok as you can probably tell I am not very technical lol, so are you saying it could be old oil in exhaust or are you saying it could be a new probably since the turbo was replaced.
my car is completely standard so I would assume my exhaust is too, so not an after market

It's probably just the oil in the exhaust from when the turbo failed mate, takes along time to burn off oil in an exhaust. The warmer you get the car and the harder you drive it, the quicker the oil will burn off.
Easiest thing to do, get a Milltek fitted!!!

Haha yes I suppose that's one option I have, I will try and give it a good run today see if it clears.
Is there any sort of exhaust or cat cleaner recommended, I could try that before the milltek lol

Had the exhaust of yesterday to clear some of the old oil that was hanging around the joining brackets and a bit of good news... It's a milltek system already.

I always though my tips looked bigger than other pics I've seen of some standard ones, looks like I'll be off to MRC soon to get a stage 1 remap, will go nicely with the milltek
