Leaving the C5 gang

Post by johnny11 » Tue Feb 04, 2014 4:03 pm

After nearly 8 years of ownership I am leaving the RS6 fold :( , the time has come to move on. My C5 has been a absolute treat to own, and has never really missed a beat. The long drives to and from Scotland would not have been so much fun if I didn't have the RS6.
Now to what is replacing it, I'm picking up a sepang blue RS5 this weekend :biggrin3: so the long drives will still be enjoyable.

The car is being part exchanged this weekend so if anyone wants to make an offer more than £8000 by this weekend
Please contact me.

If ever there was a reason to move on, an RS5 would sure be one of them ! Nice.
Enjoy the new car

I'll wager that you'll miss the turbos, but the RS5 is a fine car indeed :)

£8k on a PX is good, right?

I was reading today that the V8 Bentley GT3 car moves the turbos out of the V and uses RS5 heads. There you go, OT but informative.

8 years ownership, how much has the C5 screwed with your head? I'm at 3 (or 4, my heads screwed  ) years now.
Good luck with the new motor, I have a soft spot that turns rather hard for the RS5. If the rear leg room was better in them, there's a good chance we would have one instead of our C5.
previous- Pug 205 gti, 306 gti, 309 gti Goodwood.
Audi S3, S4 V8 avant.
Porsche Macan Turbo.
Gone but NEVER forgotten - C5 RS6 Misano red avant.

Now - Empty garage

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there!

In the first 2 years of owner ship it was still under warranty, so had new propshaft, then some of the dry got replaced with the valve, then I managed to get a replacement RNSE unit out of them too, as mine went all weird. But since the warranty had run out the only issues I had are the oil cooler and pipes and 2 years ago a new alternator, so to be fair it's been great car.

Why do people drive in to flood water when it's that deep ffs. Towed a car in to the local BMW dealer last week asked how many submarines they had in, answer 14, most of which are written off some of which were only a few months old.
Avus Avant, RNS-E mk2 with sds and Bluetooth, Milltek, Hotchkis, Bilstein, Forge, ITG, A.C.E, Wagner, FBMFSW, MTM.

Probably reported it to his Insurance company, told them where it was, and left it to them to deal with. They probably paid up for a write off, and then forgot about it! Wish I'd known about it though - probably had a nice RNSE...

As for people driving into deep water... no comment
