Atmospheric Air Temperature Sensor off

Something I noticed on my first journey in the RS6 is that when the outside temperature was around 20deg C it was showing up on the dash as being 35deg C and no way was it that hot.
Anyone know how I go about replacing this sensor as I assume it must be a sensor fault?

They are rubbish. If you change it, it'll be the same. You could always give it a try. It behind the front bumper somewhere, IIRC.
They work when the engine is stone cold, but as soon as it warms up heat soaks into the sensor. I've seen people try to relocate them with no improvement. My advice on this one is to not look at the temperature display.

Yep, they have a mind of their own, just ignore it as it will never read properly.

I believe they sit just at the top of the bumper just open the bonnet and look down.
Over Christmas it was super cold (minus 5 perhaps) and I drove the car half an hour. Popped to the shops around 10 minutes later and the outside temperature had shot upto about 25! Talk about heat soak.

Oh, ok, thanks guys, I'll not bother with it then, I'll just ignore it if it's a design flaw.
